KAYADHU – MOTHER OF BHAKT PRAHALAD

INTRODUCTION
Kayadhu was the mother of Bhakt Prahalad, and was the wife of the Demon King Hiranyakasipu. She lived during the Krita Yuga. Though, her husband has caused lot of troubles to the people in the earth and heaven, she was a kind hearted lady, and contains great bhakti on the god. She also tried her level best to change the mind of her husband in order to make him to be a devotee of the god. But she couldn’t succeed in her attempts.
But she was gifted by the god to give birth to a pious and a noble son Bhakt Prahalad, who has served as a Demi god Sri SanguKarna, in Brahma Loka, in his previous birth. Both she and her son Prahlada were became ardent devotees of Lord Vishnu, since she was taught about the importance of worshipping Lord Vishnu while Prahalad is in her’s womb by Narada. On hearing the divine words of Narada, both the mother and the child were become holy, and contain great spiritual powers.
During pregnancy, Kayadhu had only simple food, and frequently chanted the Narayana Mantra, “OM NAMO NARAYANANA NAMAHA”, as per the instructions given by the great sage Narada.
While she was pregnant, Lord Indra tried to kidnap her in order to kill the child from her womb itself. But Narada appeared before them, and said that the boy going to be born would be a great Vishnu devotee, and he would do wonders in the world, and asked Indra to move from that place, and took Kayadhu to his ashram and treated her like his own daughter. After finishing his penance, and when Hiranyakashipu returned, Devarishi Narad handed over Kayadhu respectfully to him.
After some time, bhakt prahalad was born, and become a sincere devotee of Lord Vishnu, and he was given many troubles by his father hiranyakashipu, and finally his father was killed by Lord Narasimha, an avatar of Lord Vishnu. After that he became the king of the entire world, and ruled over the kingdom in a proper manner.
Let us worship the divine mother and son and be blessed.
