INTRODUCTION
Kamakhya Devi is an important Hindu goddess of desire and is also known as Kali and Maha Tripura Sundari. The Kamakhya temple is dedicated to her and is situated in Assam. Kamakhya Temple was one of the ancient holy temples and opened for worship in the year 1565 AD. The temple is one among the Shakti Peethas and considered as the famous Hindu pilgrimage sites in the world.
According to hindu mythology, there are 51 pieces of Mata Sati’s body fallen in india. One of the pieces is said to have fallen in assam, and in that place the Kamakhya temple was said to have been constructed.
Kamakhya is also known as Mahamaya, who takes on many forms. Devotees also call her as Kameshwari and Durga. She is the incarnation of Mata Parvati. The Demon King Narakasura was killed by Lord Krishna through the great powers of Goddess Kamakhya.
Kamakhya’s appearance is in the form of a young and charming goddess, wearing various ornaments and she contains a shining face and contains great powers. She blesses her sincere devotees and gives all kinds of prosperity in their life. Her vehicle is a powerful lion.

Kamakhya Devi is a Shakti element and contains the features of Adiparasakthi. She is worshipped mainly for getting good thoughts, good knowledge, wisdom, courage and good health. By praying to her, our bad, evil and suicidal thoughts will be removed from our mind, and we will get a good feeling in our mind and body, and our desires will be fulfilled by her. She also removes the fear from our mind, and gives braveness and pleasantness.
