MURUGAN BHAKTI SONGS BY VALLIMALAI SWAMIGAL

INTRODUCTION

Vallimalai is the sacred place where Ma Valli was born and she was brought up by the Tribal head, Sri Nambirajan, and after she had attained teenage, Lord Murugan went to Vallimalai, and with the help of his brother Lord Vinayaka, both Valli and Murugaṉ are married, and a temple was constructed for Lord Muruga at Vellore, where the divine marriage takes place before several thousands of years ago.

Sri Satchidananda Swamigal of Vallimalai was an ardent devotee of Lord Muruga, and he had attained Samadhi in the year 1950 at Vallimalai. He has performed intense meditation on Lord Muruga in Vallimalai and attained great spiritual powers through that. He insisted the people to chant the Kanda Shasti Kavacham on a daily basis in order to chase away the evil spirits from their homes.

Sri Satchidananda Swamigal was a staunch devotee of the great Saint Sri Arunagirinathar also, had spread the significance of Lord Muruga, through his wonderful songs. He has dedicated his entire life towards spreading the “MURUGAN BHAKTI SPIRIT” amongst the masses. Apart from his own songs, he has also spread the importance of Tiruppukazh songs amongst the people in South India.

Oh My Dear Lord Muruga, Please come by riding on your peacock, along with your consorts, Ma Valli and Ma Devasena. You have been called as Senatipati, the head of the army, since you contain weapons like spear and other items. Please kill our bad habits like lust, anger and greed with your spear, and give us a peaceful and a happy life, and make us to keep you in our thoughts for ever in our lives.

Oh my Dear Lord Muruga, you have been called by various names like Shanmuga, Saravana, Vadivela and Senthil Andava, and you contain six main abodes. You are the one who have killed dreaded demons like Surapadma, Tarakasura and Singamugasura and brought back happiness in the entire universe.

Oh My Lord Muruga, You have been born from the fire sparks of your father Lord Shiva, and hence you have been called as Shivakumara, Shivamainda and also as Shivagurunatha, since you have taught the meaning of the Pranava Mantra “OM”, to your father Lord Shiva.

Oh My Lord Muruga, You have been taken care of by the Karthigai Stars during the time of your childhood, and hence you are also known as Karthikeya. You are holding the entire universe on your two eyes, which cannot be imagined by a normal person like me. I have become almost mad by keep on reciting your names, and by singing your divine songs, I feel as if I have drank the divine nectar from the heaven.

Oh Lord Muruga, please show mercy on all the people in the world, since most of the people are not aware of your significance, and they are simply wasting their time without reciting your holy Mantras. Please remove the sins of your devotees and make them to become pure and pious.

At the present Kaliyuga, people are finding it very difficult to live their life, since they are suffering from lot of problems in their lives. Hence please remove their sufferings and show them the proper “BHAKTI PATH”, in order to lead their life comfortably.
