Tirupati Brahmotsavam Festivals

The Brahmotsavam festivals are celebrated at Tirupati in the months of September/October for ten days. Different idols of Lord Venkateshwara are taken out in procession in different Vahanas or chariots with various homas being conducted. Thousands of devotees flock from all around the world to participate in this holy festival.

 

 

Rayalaseema Food and Dance Festival

This festival is organised in October by the state Government to celebrate the art and cuisine of this region at Tirupati. Rayalaseema forms part of the four geographical regions of Andhra Pradesh. Chitoor, Anantpur and Kurnool are important districts that make up this region. The festival is conducted at Tirupati, the centrestage of attraction. Artists and performers come from all over the land to showcase their art. Dance performances are conducted and various cuisines are exhibited in different food outlets. Since it coincides with Brahmotsavams, large crowds gather thus imbibing the culture and local ambience.

 

Visakha Festival

This festival is organised by Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation at Visakhapatnam to help tourism in the state. It is a four-day festival celebrating the culture and traditions of the state with music, dance, arts and crafts. Various cultural programmes, heritage tours, sports events, flower show and garment exhibitions are organised and artists from various spheres participate and showcase their talent. People gather from all over the country to take part in this festival.
