SIGNIFICANCE OF PRADOSHA WORSHIP

INTRODUCTION

Pradosha worship is an auspicious prayer offered to Lord Shiva, which would occur twice in a month, and during the time of Pradosha,
the great Lord Shiva who holds the trident on his hands,
would make his loving consort Ma Shakti Devi,
to get seated on a holy throne,
and he himself would prepare to dance in between the two horns of his divine attendant Lord Nandikeswarar,
and during that time, we have to chant the names of Lord Shiva and we have to praise him, by singing songs on Shiva. Worshipping Lord Shiva during the Pradosha time would remove our sins and we would prosper in our life. It is also suggested to observe fasting during the Pradosha days in order to please Lord Shiva, and to get our wishes fulfilled by him. The significance of worshipping Lord Shiva during the Pradosha time is mentioned in the Puranas, and ancient sages used to observe strict fasting during the Pradosha days. At the time of Pradosha,
we should not think about any other things, but we must keep our entire attention only on him, and by worshipping Shiva during the Pradosha period, we would get the grace of other deities also.

The significance of Pradosha mentioned in the Shiva Purana is as follows:-

During the time of Pradosha, The goddess of education, Ma Saraswati plays the divine Veena instrument,
and the hundred eyed Indra plays the flute,
Lord Brahma would eagerly watch the divine scene of the dancing form of Lord Shiva,
Ma Lakshmi would sing wonderful songs on Lord Shiva,
Lord Vishnu beats the drum,
and all the devas would watch the wonderful scene,
and  they would pray to Lord Shiva during the time of pradosha.

When the time of Pradosha arrives,
all the divine demi gods and all the deities from the divine worlds,
would visit Kailasha and they would stand near to Lord Shiva.

Let everyone be protected by the dancing form of Shiva,
Who kills the worries of the devotees through his divine dance,
who gives a blessed life,
and he is the one who is capable of burying all of our sorrows,
and he would indicate us the proper path to attain salvation.

Let the dancing form of Lord Shiva, gives great pleasantness to us and let him remove the diseases present in our body.
