The Asathoma Mantra is an ancient Indian mantra which is found in the Brhadaranyaka Upanisad. The mantra must be recited during the time of fire sacrifices in order to please the divine deities.

Meaning:
1: Om, (O Lord) Keep me not in (the Phenomenal World of) Unreality, but make me go towards the Reality (of Eternal Self),
2: Keep me not in (the Ignorant State of) Darkness, but make me go towards the Light (of Spiritual Knowledge),
3: Keep me not in (the World of) Mortality, but make me go towards the World of Immortality (of Self-Realization),
4: Om, Peace, Peace, Peace.

Meaning:
1: O Holy Rivers Ganga and Yamuna, and also Godavari and Saraswati,
2: O Holy Rivers Narmada, Sindhu and Kaveri; My humble salutation to you. Please be Present in this Water (and make it Holy).

BHUMI GAYATRI MANTRA

Bhumi Gayatri Mantra can be chanted by all those who are interested in purchase of land or building. By reciting this mantra, we would be able to live in our house peacefully and safely, without any fear from thefts and enemies.

Meaning:

Let us meditate on Bhumi Devi, the one who provides all, bless us with abundance wealth, and gives us good health, and let the Earth Goddess illuminate my mind.

BRAHMA GAYATRI MANTRA

Lord Brahma Deva is the creator of the entire universe. He is the god who is fixing our fate, and he is also having the power to slightly change our fate based on our sincere bhakti on him. By worshipping him, and by chanting the Brahma Gayatri mantra, we would get relieved from several problems and diseases in our life.

Hamsarudhaya Dhimahi
Tanno Brahma Prachodayat

Meaning: Let us meditate on the great lord with four faces and is seated on a white swan. May Brahma, the Creator, inspire and illuminate our mind.

CHITRAGUPTA MANTRA

Lord Chitragupta is the divine accountant who is residing in the Yama Loka and discharging his duties in a proper manner. He is giving correct calculations to Lord Yama about our good as well as bad deeds performed in the earth. By chanting the mantra of Lord Chitragupta, the severity of our bad karmas would be reduced to some extent, and we would be able to live our life without much difficulty in this world. Hence let us chant the mantra and be blessed.

He is considered as the god of gods, and he is highly praised by the Saptarishis and all other deities for his abundant knowledge. Worshipping him in the temples, and chanting his mantra, especially during the Thursdays, would give good fortunes in our life, and we would be blessed by him.

DURGA GAYATRI MANTRA

“Om Kaatyaayanaaya vidmahe
Kanyaakumaari dhiimahi
Tanno durgih pracodayaat“

Meaning:

We know the daughter of Maharishi Kaatyaayana,
We meditate on the virgin girl.
May, the unconquerable one inspires us.

Purpose:

  1. Removal of threats.
  2. To reduce the malefic effects of Rahu.
  3. To remove all the bad habits from us through the grace of the holy mother Durga Devi.
  4. To get good wisdom, courage and physical and mental strength.
  5. To attain SALVATION.

GANESHA NAMAM MUSICAL

Lord Vinayaka is the first god and he has to be worshipped before the start of any new event. He is the remover of obstacles and the giver of boons to us. By worshipping and by chanting this mantra, our life would blossom like a lotus flower.

Pleasant faced god,
God with one tusk,
God who is reddish black,
God with an elephant ears,

God who is cruel to his enemies,
God who is the remover of obstacles,
God who is the leader of those who removes obstacles.

God who is the colour of smoke,
God who is president of an army,
God who has crescent in his forehead,
God who walks like an elephant,
God who has a broken tusk,
God who has very broad ears,
God who stays close to Lord Shiva,
God who is elder brother of Subrahmanya.

GARUDA GAYATRI MANTRA

Lord Garuda is the Divine Vehicle of Lord Vishnu. He is the master of the birds, and contains great strength. By worshipping Lord Garuda, we would be protected from snake bites and we would be healed from poisonous diseases and from Dreaded virus infections.

Hence let us regularly chant the Garuda Gayatri Mantra and be blessed.

Meaning:

Meaning: We meditate on that most adored Supreme Lord, the creator, whose divine light illumines all realms (physical, mental and spiritual). Let this divine light gives intelligence, and good memory power to us.

Meaning of the Mantra

Om: The primeval sound.

Bhur: the physical body/physical realm.

Bhuvah: the life force/the mental realm.

Suvah: the soul/spiritual realm.

Tat:  That (God).

Savitur: the Sun, Creator.

Varenyam: adore.

Bhargo: divine light.

HAYAGRIVA MANTRA

Lord Hayagriva is worshipped for getting good wisdom, knowledge and courage. Students are advised to worship Lord Hayagriva before their exams, in order to secure good marks in their exams. JAI SRI RAM MANTRA

The Famous Mantra “Jai Sri Ram” means “Glory to Lord Rama” or “Victory to Lord Rama”. This mantra is very powerful, and by frequently uttering this mantra, we would get the blessings of Lord Rama as well as Lord Hanuman.

‘Srinivasaya’ means the great Lord Srinivasa who is dwelling in Tirumala for doing goodness to his devotees, and he is also called as Venkateswara.

‘Namaha’ means offering of our humble prayers to the almighty.

LAKSHMI GAYATRI MANTRA

Mata Lakshmi Devi is the consort of Lord Vishnu. She is the goddess of wealth. By worshipping her, and by chanting her mantra, we would get sufficient wealth and good fortunes in our life.

Om Shree Mahalakshmyai Cha Vidmahe, Vishnu Patnyai Cha Dheemahi Tanno Lakshmi Prachodayat.

Meaning:

Om, Let me meditate on the greatest goddess, who is the wife of Lord Vishnu, Give me higher intellect, and let Goddess Lakshmi illuminate my mind.

LORD INDRA MANTRA

Lord Indra is the god of the divine demi gods in the heaven. He is occupying an important place next to the Trimurties and the Tridevis. By worshipping Lord Indra, our body would become strong like his Vajra Weapon, and we would get good mental strength also. And finally, after our death, we would get an opportunity to live in the Indra Loka.

Hence let us chant the below mentioned mantra in order to please Lord Indra and to get his blessings.

LORD YAMA MANTRA

Lord Yama is the god of death. Everyone born in this earth have to die on some day. By chanting the below mentioned mantra, we would not get death fear in our mind, and also we would get peaceful and painless death.

1.1: (Salutations to Sri Kalabhairava) Whose Lotus-Feet is Served by Indra, the King of the Devas.
1.2: Who has a Snake as his sacrificial thread, moon on his head, and who is extremely sympathetic with his devotees.

1.3: Who is Praised by sage Narada and other Yogis, and who is Digambara (Clothed by Sky, signifying that He is Ever-Free).

1.4: Salutations to Sri Kalabhairava who is the Supreme Lord of the city of Kashi.

VAYU GAYATRI MANTRA

This mantra can be chanted by all those who want to be cured from digestion problems, asthma and from heart related diseases. The great and kind wind god would prevent air pollution. Lord Vayu is an ardent devotee of Lord Vishnu, and hence worshipping Lord Vayu along with Lord Vishnu, and his favourite son Lord Hanuman would bring good fortunes in our life.

Vayu Gaytari Mantra:

Om pawanpurushaay vidhmhe sahstramurtiye             ch dhimhi!

Tanno vayuh prachodayt om !

Meaning:

Let me meditate on the life giving air god, and the one who holds the scepter, who gives me higher intellect, and let the God of Winds illuminate my mind.

VIOLIN MUSIC

INTRODUCTION

The violin, also known as a fiddle, is a wooden  instrument. Though Violin is not that much popular similar to Veena, still violins are played in music concerts, and lot of violin enthusiasts are there. Most of the violins contain wooden body. It is the smallest and the lovely instrument, which produces good sound. The violin contains four strings, and it requires lot of practice for the violin Vidwans to perform in the musical concerts.

They are most popularly used in the western music and in classical Carnatic music. Violins are also played in rock music and lot of Indians and foreigners are interested in learning and playing the violin instrument.

The violin was introduced in 16th-century in Italy, and during the 18th and 19th centuries the instrument has been fine-tuned by making small changes in the instrument. The late violin Vidhwan Sri Kunnakudi Vaidyanathan had performed very well using his violin, and he was highly praised for his wonderful musical concerts.

By regularly hearing the melodious music of violin, our mental worries would run away, and we would be boosted with extra energy in our mind and body, and we would be able to perform well in our life. It is believed that, by hearing the divine music of violin, mental illness can be cured to some extent. Those who give more work to their mind and body must regularly hear the violin music, and they can also hear the music from their homes itself by listening to the music from the Music chanting boxes, in order to get relieved from their tensions.

All the musical instruments such as violin and veena are the favourite instruments of Mata Saraswati, goddess of arts and education. By playing the musical instruments, and by worshipping Mata Saraswati, we would get wellness in our life, and our bad fate would be slightly adjusted due to the grace of Lord Brahma and Saraswati, and we would be able to live fearlessly and painlessly in our life.
